Brisbane Lions Game Today Live

Brisbane survives FOUR first-half injuries as listless Suns embarrassed

Lions prevail in spite of adversity

Brisbane was forced to overcome a significant injury toll in the first half of their match against Gold Coast on Saturday, but they ultimately emerged victorious with a comfortable 22-point win.

The Lions lost four players to injury in the opening two quarters, with Darcy Gardiner (concussion), Jaxon Prior (hamstring), Noah Answerth (concussion), and Oscar McInerney (shoulder) all forced from the field.

Despite the setbacks, Brisbane remained composed and controlled the tempo of the game for the majority of the contest. The Lions' midfield brigade was particularly impressive, with Lachie Neale, Jarryd Lyons, and Hugh McCluggage all contributing heavily.

Up forward, Eric Hipwood and Joe Daniher both kicked three goals, while Charlie Cameron added two. The Suns were simply outclassed in all areas of the ground, and they never really threatened to cause an upset.

Conclusion

Brisbane's win was a testament to their depth and resilience. Even without some of their key players, the Lions were able to produce a dominant performance and secure a much-needed victory. The Lions will now turn their attention to next week's clash with Melbourne at the MCG, while the Suns will be looking to bounce back against St Kilda at home.
